Dún Urlann medieval church. One of the parish churches built after the 12th century when the church was reorganised in Ireland and Rome finally extended its control to the western edges of Europe.
Cathair Uí Mhurchú is one of a number of stone forts built along the coastal route, west of Dingle town. They generally date to the Iron Age (500BC - 500AD), and would have been the dwelling place of an extended Irish farming family. They are part of the drystone building tradition known as 'corbelling' which is common on the Dingle Peninsula.
Ogham Stones at Coláiste Íde were collected from the Peninsula by Lord Ventry and used as a decorative feature or curiosity on the entrance to his estate. They were originally used to claim land ownership between the 4th - 7th centuries
At this location stood the original parish church of Dingle, probably built shortly after 1200. The original church may have been built by the Spanish traders who were associated with Dingle, and it is known that Dingle became one of the embarkation points for the Pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostella, in Galicia, NW Spain.
St. Michael's Holy Well is located in Ballymore and is attended on September 29th and the cures associated with the Well were or headache, toothache and warts.
Reask cross slab is located within an early Christian Monastic Site dating from the early 6th century and in use through to the 10th century.
